dead-marioClub Nintendo has been hacked. The attack was carried out by brute force over the course of a Month. Nintendo only discovered it on July 2nd. 15 million fraudulent log-ins were attempted, of which 24,000 accounts were compromised. The data taken includes personal information such as names and phone numbers.

Nintendo suspended the affected accounts, and will contact their owners to notify them of the breech. In an interview with CVG, the company stated only Japanese Club Nintendo members are affected.

There has been no word on why it took so long to discover such a large attack. Brute force is a relatively basic form of account hacking. Nintendo says they are working on strengthening security.
