NVIDIA has taken the covers off their latest graphics card, the GeForce GTX 960.

PC gaming is about to hit a quantum leap thanks to the new console generation. Which has pushed up system requirements for games considerably in the last few months. Big Green is promising that with 1024 CUDA cores, you’ll be able to play current games like Assassin’s Creed Unity full 1080p at a buttery smooth 60fps. All that for just $199 US.

NVIDIA calls it the sweet spot. That high mid-range segment of PC gaming who expects performance on a budget.

The company says the GTX 960 will also be compatible with DirectX 12, which is due to launch with Windows 10 later this year.

If you want to get your hands on this bad boy, it’s currently for sale at major PC gaming retailers. Naturally, it’s considerably more expensive here in Canada, currently retailing anywhere between $270 and $300. Yay recession.
